When we ask Jesus into our lives, God makes us spiritually alive. This is a fantastic experience for a Christian who has Christ living in them. Before we know Christ, we are dead spiritually. Spiritual death is clearly spoken about in the Bible.
Adam and Eve sinned against God in the garden of Eden. That very day they died spiritually and as a result, lost the relationship they had with God. When we are born we inherit the sin that came upon Adam and Eve, in the garden of Eden.
Many people are confused with scripture because they do not know the difference between being spiritually or physically dead. Christians and none Christians die in the flesh, but followers of Christ never die spiritually. Christians experience eternal life in Jesus.
Jesus paid the price for us, when He died on the cross. Even though He is God, He had to a temporary separation from the Father due to the sin He bore on the cross. This spiritual separation was due to the sin He bore on the cross. In Mark 15:33-34 Jesus asks the Father why He had forsaken Him.
When believers partake of Christ's flesh they will live forever. Anyone that does not accept Christ will remain spiritually dead. Those who are spiritually dead experience a separation from Christ forever. They will be tortured spiritually for all eternity because they did not accept Christ.
This life is fleeting, but the life we have with Christ will last forever. We will be free to spend an intimate relationship with God. We will have no pain, illness or physical problems. Our spirit will be free to worship God for eternity.
