The Sacrifice of Isaac

22:1 After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.” 2 He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” 3 So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. 4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar. 5 Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you.” 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” And he said, “Here am I, my son.” He said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 8 Abraham said, “God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they went both of them together.
9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built the altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.” 12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”
15 And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven 16 and said, “By myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies, 18 and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.” 19 So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beersheba. And Abraham lived at Beersheba.

To Your Name Give Glory

115:1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
2 Why should the nations say,
“Where is their God?”
3 Our God is in the heavens;
he does all that he pleases.
4 Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
5 They have mouths, but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6 They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7 They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
8 Those who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them.
9 O Israel, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
Psalm 115:1-9 (ESV)

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

9:1 And getting into a boat he crossed over and came to his own city. 2 And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.” 3 And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” 4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.” 7 And he rose and went home. 8 When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

Prophetic Word Through A Fortune Cookie

By Wayne Sutton

It is truly amazing how God can speak to us through a myriad of circumstances - and through any means he so chooses...

This article may be funny to you - but it packs a lot of truth, and I must be transparent in my own shortcoming to give the message.

Several months ago I spent a few days in Virginia Beach doing some street ministry. Walking the malls and shopping centers, looking for someone to pray with or bless with a word from God. We saw some great healings and we witnessed people turn their heart to God, openly in front of everyone crying and praying toward heaven. To say it was great is an understatement - it was awesome! Then I met Jim (not his real name), and went out witnessing and praying with him.

I only spent a few hours with Jim, as we went to a local hospital waiting room and prayed for the sick. Our team prayed for people, gave prophetic words over some of the staff (including at least one Muslim), and simply shared God's love with many people. I was excited to bring the Kingdom to the world outside of the four walls of the church. I may have been excited... but Jim was ecstatic!

Jim prayed for everyone in his path! Everyone he saw he seemed to pray for... if they wanted it or not! He went through the waiting room smiling and rebuking sickness and disease like the Tasmanian devil chasing after Bugs bunny! I was initially impressed with his zeal - but I seriously doubted his judgment and his approach.

A few hours later I was discussing this (nice way of saying rebuking this behavior), with a friend of mine over dinner. I continued about his lack of knowledge in approaches and how he was allowing zeal to be a stumbling block. I guess my friend was not the only one listening...

I opened my fortune cookie, which I never take serious, to see a message of correction. I have never repented over a "word" from a fortune cookie before until I read...

"Ignorance on fire is better than knowledge on ice."

Wow. God spoke through a donkey before - now he was speaking through a cookie! And I keep that fortune cookie reminder on me everyday now.

Are we reaching the lost outside the four walls of the church? Are waiting "to be led" - I have never have seen that excuse in the Bible... or are we waiting until we are "anointed enough"?

It is time to take the word of God as truth and actually reach those outside the church. It is time to begin being obedient to our assignment. Can we "improve" our approaches? Sure. But we must start where we are.. and start now.

No more waiting... it is time to start! Start a fire today...

Ever thought how men, who have a lot of women by their side, get those women? Of course, the physical look is the first thing that entices these women to these men. But what makes them stay more is something else. And in this writing, I tell you what they are.

See a man can take conceit on his appearance and can make a fine first impact with it. But in order to make a women hang around, you must appeal to her senses. Play a sensual voice, use a haunting fragrance and wear clothes that would make you amazingly gorgeous. Give the woman a reason to imagine about you even when you are not with her.

You can accidentally rub your arms on her shoulders, touch her hair or whisper in her ear so that she will understand that you are interested with her. Make her feel as if she is the center of your universe by being around her enough to make her believe that she is special.

James Killed and Peter Imprisoned

12:1 About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. 2 He killed James the brother of John with the sword, 3 and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread. 4 And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. 5 So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.

Peter Is Rescued

6 Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. 7 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood next to him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And the chains fell off his hands. 8 And the angel said to him, “Dress yourself and put on your sandals.” And he did so. And he said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.” 9 And he went out and followed him. He did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they had passed the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them of its own accord, and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel left him. 11 When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”
Acts 12:1-11 (ESV)
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no lack!
Psalm 34:2-9 (ESV)
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:6-7 (ESV)
17 But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
2 Timothy 4:17-18 (ESV)

Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ

13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Today’s verse

15 As morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be swept away in the punishment of the city.” 16 But he lingered. So the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 And as they brought them out, one said, “Escape for your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley. Escape to the hills, lest you be swept away.” 18 And Lot said to them, “Oh, no, my lords. 19 Behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in saving my life. But I cannot escape to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me and I die. 20 Behold, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!” 21 He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this favor also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken. 22 Escape there quickly, for I can do nothing till you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

God Destroys Sodom

23 The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven. 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But Lot's wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. 28 And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29 So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.
Genesis 19:15-29 (ESV)

in the great assembly I will bless the Lord.

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,’
and
“‘On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

16 Then the men set out from there, and they looked down toward Sodom. And Abraham went with them to set them on their way. 17 The Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do, 18 seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.” 20 Then the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave, 21 I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me. And if not, I will know.”

Abraham Intercedes for Sodom

22 So the men turned from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the Lord. 23 Then Abraham drew near and said, “Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city. Will you then sweep away the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous who are in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing, to put the righteous to death with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?” 26 And the Lord said, “If I find at Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”
27 Abraham answered and said, “Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes. 28 Suppose five of the fifty righteous are lacking. Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?” And he said, “I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.” 29 Again he spoke to him and said, “Suppose forty are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of forty I will not do it.” 30 Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak. Suppose thirty are found there.” He answered, “I will not do it, if I find thirty there.” 31 He said, “Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord. Suppose twenty are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of twenty I will not destroy it.” 32 Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.” 33 And the Lord went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

The Cost of Following Jesus

18 Now when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to go over to the other side. 19 And a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” 21 Another of the disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 22 And Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

When you keep on hearing a sound in your ear (buzzing, ringing or whooshing) it may be you're suffering from what's called tinnitus. Sometimes it can even interfere with your everyday life, especially when in severe cases. By having an effective tinnitus relief Brooklyn, you can make the problem more tolerable or even disappear.

Pinpointing the reason behind the issue is the best approach to deal with it. As soon as you note that it's unremitting or worsening, go to an ear expert or otolaryngologist. The specialist will get your health history and perform some tests to figure out what's causing the issue, and come up with a treatment plan.

It's not unlikely that your family doctor can point you to a reliable otolaryngologist. Also, ask around as someone you know may be able to recommend one practicing in the city. You may go online and use your trusted search engine to look for a specialist. It's also possible to browse through the pages of the local directory.

While you're contacting an otolaryngologist, you might want to try some proven effective approaches to help out with the problem. Vitamin B12 is beneficial to damaged nerves in your ear. Load up on foods which contain lots of vitamin B12 such as milk, yogurt, eggs, clams, oysters, sardines, liver and meat.

While there are some foods you should have lots of, there are also some which you should minimize. Stay away from fatty and salty foods. They can cause your blood pressure to rise which can cause or worsen the sound you're hearing. Also, minimize your consumption of grain-based liqueurs and caffeinated drinks like coffees, teas and colas.

Another known triggering factor is stress, so you should do your best in staying away from it. However, if it's not possible, it's important that you cope with it effectively each time. At the end of the day, have a massage or take a relaxing bath. You may also write in your journal, exercise lightly, listen to soothing music or play with a furry friend.

Using a masker is another tinnitus relief Brooklyn that works. This device emits white noise which can counter the ringing, buzzing or whooshing sound you're hearing. At night, turn it on to help you sleep better. Worry not if you don't have the budget for it. It's possible to simply turn on the radio and go between stations to get static.

How To Search For People

By Brian E. Howard

I personally enjoy watching T.V shows or movies that are about crime and missing people. It is very interesting to watch how the investigators go through very small details in order to solve the case, catch the kidnapper and rescue the person who was missing.

Unfortunately, we all know that the endings of stories are not always happy. Sometimes the detectives are not able to catch the criminal, and what makes things worse is when they are not able to find the person in time. The victim is either dead or just stays missing and unknown.

It is difficult to see the friends and families of the victim try to cope with what is happening in their lives. As they are on the search, there are so many different kinds of feelings and emotions that take place. Some continue to keep the fire of hope alive in their hearts, while other just becomes swallowed up in despair.

Every person has a different story to tell. We all have different experiences when it comes to trying to find a person. Not all of us have experienced having a friend kidnapped or missing, like the way it is shown in some crimes. However, one way or the other, we are looking for someone in our life. It may be a close friend from the past or a relative. The basic truth is that if that person is important, we would do almost anything to find them.

So today, what can we do in order to learn how to find people that we are looking for? Well, there are so many advantages we have in the modern day because of all the technological advances.

One of the most basic places to look when it comes to finding people would be to use the internet. The internet is the easiest and fastest place you can start your search. By just typing the basic information of a person in the search engines, there is a strong possibility that something about them will come up.

When you are searching online, always try to type in information that is specific. Start looking particularly for the persons address or their latest cell phone and landline number. The tools available online are also numerous that will really help you when you are searching for some. The internet usually has good accurate information about a person, so that is very important.

So don't give up and keep on persevering in your search. When you look for a person online, you may really be able to find that person you have been searching for.

Today’s verse

2 And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. 3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Deuteronomy 8:2-3 (ESV)
14 then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, 15 who led you through the great and terrifying wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, who brought you water out of the flinty rock, 16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end.
Deuteronomy 8:14-16 (ESV)
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!
Praise your God, O Zion!
13 For he strengthens the bars of your gates;
he blesses your children within you.
14 He makes peace in your borders;
he fills you with the finest of the wheat.
15 He sends out his command to the earth;
his word runs swiftly.
Psalm 147:12-15 (ESV)
19 He declares his word to Jacob,
his statutes and rules to Israel.
20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation;
they do not know his rules.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 147:19-20 (ESV)
16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
1 Corinthians 10:16-17 (ESV)
51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
John 6:51-58 (ESV)

The Benefits Of Conflict Resolution

By Maria Rivera

Conflict Resolution is really a significant skill in life. Your notion of conflict has a strong effect on how it takes on out in your life. If you acknowledge conflict then judge it as an opportunity to better a situation or even a relationship, then you'll tackle the barrier of viewing the conflict through, however hard it might be, since you recognize that the greatest advantage of functioning with an issue will probably be useful ultimately for both you and your working relationship with the other party.

If, on the flip side, you hate conflict and prefer to rest on a mattress of pointed nails than handle an issue with a colleague, you will be more inclined to stay away from this, mismanage it, or perhaps reject its existence. In any case, your undesirable belief of conflict prevents you against dealing with it effectively. Furthermore, staying away from conflict only causes it to be more liable that the concern will still be an origin of competition without any end in sight. The truth is, only you can identify what conflict signifies to you.

When an emotion-laden conflict arrives, a fantastic conflict management technique is to take the time to look past any immediate feelings or tendencies and find out the specific problem that's causing complications. If needed, disengage from the instant situation, get a rest and a full breath gradually, and look at the problem before over reacting. Putting away ideas and being anxious enables you to cope with the majority of minor office fights without irritation or continuous bitterness on each side. It's also wise to project a planned, polite way that the co-workers will admire significantly more than the usual raging tirade.

Take a look at mediation. Courts, colleges, and companies are turning increasingly more to mediation to aid resolve issues. Mediators do not make alternatives for people-they assist people make their very own conclusions. In mediation courses, a neutral third person (or persons) aids the persons in conflict take care of their issue. Mediators must be distinct and unbiased. They could be professionals or volunteers who've been through rigorous training. Mediators really don't determine a settlement; they encourage dialog, provide instruction, and help the people determine areas of agreement and conflict. A mediation system is exclusive. Contact a mediator in the event the conflict is not successfully managed with out outside help. Sometimes this is a necessary aspect in conflict management. It will help to have somebody not sentimentally dedicated to the process to come in and shed some light to the situation.

Conflict Resolution should be done properly. Don't avoid the conflict, hoping it will go away. Believe me. It won't. Even if the conflict appears to have been superficially put to rest, it can rear its ugly head anytime stress increases or a new disagreement occurs. An unresolved conflict or interpersonal difference festers slightly below the surface in your work place. It burbles to the exterior whenever allowed, and always at the worst possible moment. This, too, shall pass, is never an option - ever.

Today’s verse

18:1 And the Lord appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day. 2 He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth 3 and said, “O Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant. 4 Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree, 5 while I bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.” So they said, “Do as you have said.” 6 And Abraham went quickly into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quick! Three seahs of fine flour! Knead it, and make cakes.” 7 And Abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to a young man, who prepared it quickly. 8 Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree while they ate.
9 They said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “She is in the tent.” 10 The Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah. 12 So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?” 13 The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.” 15 But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. He said, “No, but you did laugh.”
Genesis 18:1-15 (ESV)
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
Luke 1:47-50 (ESV)
53 he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
55 as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
Luke 1:53-55 (ESV)

The Faith of a Centurion

5 When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, 6 “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.” 7 And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. 11 I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12 while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment.

Jesus Heals Many

14 And when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16 That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
Matthew 8:5-17 (ESV)

How You Can Spend Quality Time With Family

By Sonny Margen

Let's face it, all of us are busy with school, homework, projects and deadlines. That is, if you are a student. If you are a parent, then you have got overtime, meetings and conferences together with your bosses and office mates and perhaps a deadline or two. And the list continues. The point is, most of us are so busy with our personal lives that people might have ignored our family along the process. Our weekdays are full of many important things to do as well as during weekends, we even still visit school or work.

We usually dedicate our weekends to the family and strive to squeeze into a little bonding time together. But as mentioned earlier as well as mentioned in reviews like blu cigs reviews, the majority of us are preoccupied with work and school. If you have a weekend coming up, reserve this for the family and check out out some fun and exciting bonding activities with your family. Here are some things you may want to try out with them:

When you belong to a family group that's eager for some adventure, you may want to try out mountain climbing. It is one activity the whole family can push their efforts in and get to know more about the weaknesses and strengths of each member. It's a great activity which will work out those stressed muscles and can help you get in shape.

Funny and weird as it can seem but shopping can be another good way to bond with the family. It's also a de-stressing activity and this will help you know more of what your folks or children are into these days. You will also get to know the latest fad on the market so as you don't feel omitted in the trends market. Don't forget to carry along with you your discount cards and coupons like the blu cigs coupon code. These may come in handy if you're thinking about buying things like electric cigarettes.

You also have the option to just stay at home and spend time with your family. Rather than just staying inside your room, reading a blu cigs review or so, you can help cook up a special meal with your mom, dad or siblings. Maybe later on, you'll have a DVD marathon in your living room. Family bonding needs not to be something out of the ordinary. What's important is the time you spend together.

Spiritual Counseling - The Source of Consciousness

By Jason Lincoln Jeffers

To the materialist, consciousness is the awakened state of the mind, or more accurately described as the ability to think and have self perception. "I think therefore I am," is their axiom. Unconsciousness, from this somewhat primitive perspective, is experienced when someone knocks you over the head with a baseball bat and you fall to the floor. Or more commonly, when you fall asleep at night. But this rudimentary perception of consciousness is not what I am referring to here. Not even close.

Self, unity, or pure consciousness is the state of infinite intelligence, the field of unbounded wisdom, the place of limitless creativity. It is where the act of knowing, the knower, and the known all meld into One. It is at this level where form, feelings, perceptions, impulses, and thought completely dissolve. This is where consciousness becomes aware of it Self.

Once achieved by the soul, the ability to align itself with pure consciousness is never lost. It may be briefly forgotten but after the consequence of suffering admonishes, Self consciousness is quickly reacquired. This is what is known as "enlightenment" or "Self-realization," and becoming a realized One is very much like learning how to ride a bicycle--at first you fall a lot, but eventually you get the hang of it. This is when your entire life becomes a peaceful, blissful meditation--where anything can be achieved through mere visualization and patience. This is the normal state of the Next Human.

God is not out there somewhere. What we call God is right here, right now, if we can learn to set the mind down. Furthermore, what we call God is not confined to a single personality. This concept of God by its very nature implies servitude to a specific doctrine that comes with that God personality, and this only indulges the ego. This rudimentary perception of God must be transcended if we, as a species, are going to evolve into the Next Human. It would be closer to the truth to say that God is a limitless amount of personalities or souls. A drop of water in an infinite ocean of "God" is a nice metaphor for the soul but even this does not accurately describe who you are. In truth, you are the consciousness behind the veil of form, the consciousness behind the body, mind, and the soul. This is your true nature, the nature of God, the divine singularity, the Source of all that is. And because you are pure consciousness at your core, you are eternal and everlasting.

The Source is not bound by space, therefore it is everywhere. The Source is not bounded by time, therefore it is eternal. The Source is not bound by knowledge, therefore it is omniscient. The Source is not bound by power, therefore it is omnipotent. The Source can only be found in the Now.

Search Me, O God, and Know My Heart

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

139:1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
Psalm 139:1-3 (ESV)

Book One

The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

1:1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
Psalm 1 (ESV)

The Birth of John the Baptist

57 Now the time came for Elizabeth to give birth, and she bore a son. 58 And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her. 59 And on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child. And they would have called him Zechariah after his father, 60 but his mother answered, “No; he shall be called John.” 61 And they said to her, “None of your relatives is called by this name.” 62 And they made signs to his father, inquiring what he wanted him to be called. 63 And he asked for a writing tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they all wondered. 64 And immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he spoke, blessing God. 65 And fear came on all their neighbors. And all these things were talked about through all the hill country of Judea, 66 and all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, “What then will this child be?” For the hand of the Lord was with him.
Luke 1:57-66 (ESV)

The Servant of the Lord

49:1 Listen to me, O coastlands,
and give attention, you peoples from afar.
The Lord called me from the womb,
from the body of my mother he named my name.
2 He made my mouth like a sharp sword;
in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
he made me a polished arrow;
in his quiver he hid me away.
3 And he said to me, “You are my servant,
Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”
4 But I said, “I have labored in vain;
I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity;
yet surely my right is with the Lord,
and my recompense with my God.”
5 And now the Lord says,
he who formed me from the womb to be his servant,
to bring Jacob back to him;
and that Israel might be gathered to him—
for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord,
and my God has become my strength—
6 he says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
I will make you as a light for the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
Isaiah 49:1-6 (ESV)
