What Do We Have to Do to Live In Abundance?

By Nick Bogatin

There are only two decisions that separate you from the life you currently have and the life you desire. First you must decide what you want to focus on, on a consistent basis. The more empowering material you pour into your mind, the more your mind will produce empowered thoughts and ideas. This is obvious. The second decision to make is whether you believe it's enough to focus on abundance mentally or if you will supplement your abundant mindset with action.

Mentally, all human beings have tremendous abilities. We have six mental faculties that make us powerful beings, but make no mistake about it; we live in a physical world so our mental processes must be translated to the physical world, through action, if we are to live the life we desire. Action is the key that unlocks the power of our mental faculties.

There is a common misunderstanding. Some refer to the brain and the mind as the same thing. That couldn't be further from the truth. Our minds are the containers of our emotions, dreams, beliefs, and thoughts. The brain on the other hand, is simply a switching station for our neurological processes to take place. Our bodies use electrical impulses to control it. The brain performs that function.

Our bodies work in patterns. If we do something repeatedly, we create patterns. On your first day of work, getting to the office, might've been challenging, learning the way, managing the traffic, insuring that you get to the right building on time, possibly in a part of a city you're unfamiliar with, and then after taking that drive everyday for a couple of months, you don't event think about the trip. You pull out of your driveway, get on the highway, and you're at your office. You're on auto-pilot, because your brain can perform this activity without concentrating on every turn, stop sign or tie-up. Our bodies and our brains have developed a pattern, and it's ingrained.

So what does this have to do with living in abundance?

Let's imagine you have read all the books, listened to the tapes, and attended every seminar you encountered. It all makes sense and you've even started to think empowering thoughts most of the time. Is your life where you want it to be? Probably not. Not unless you have taken some sort of action. This is where people get stuck. They've "done the work" but haven't put it into action.

This happens because our brain, and the rest of our body, doesn't have the action-taking pattern ingrained. There is no easy way around this, so get ready for it - unless you take some kind of action, you will never ingrain an action pattern. Sorry to give you the bad news but it's as cut and dry as that. It sounds like a catch-22, doesn't it?

You've heard this before, haven't you? Habits play a key role, in our lives. Is it a habit of yours to know that there's something to do, and yet you hesitate to take the next step? What keeps you from taking action? This is mental. The repeated patterns (habits) form pathways along the neurological connections in your brain. The brain experiences a physical transformation in response to every habit you acquire. It really is that simple. You develop bad habits, and your brain craves the bad habit because you've taught it to. It's a catch-22, isn't it?

So, the question is, how exactly do you change your habits? To do that, you have to change the neurological connections in your brain. How do you do that? Well, we are going to leave you here with a bit of a cliffhanger. Next week we will finish this process so be sure to check back. Until then, live in abundance.
