Have you ever witnessed a young child's behavior after he is scolded by his mother? Even after being chastened, he or she will still run to his or her mom and cling to her legs. How is it that someone so young realizes the unconditional love of a mother but Believers sometimes have a difficult time understanding that God's love for us is similar and greater? As children of God, we must stand strong in faith and believe that He loves us. Sure, there are times when your soul may try and convince you God doesn't love you, but you must renew your mind with the Word of God where His love is concerned.
Covenants were common practices in the Old Testament, and carried greater significance than modern contracts. For example, to Abraham, a covenant was very serious. Therefore, when God entered a blood covenant him (which is the strongest agreement in existence), Abraham had a reason to trust God. As a result of their covenant, Abraham believed God's promise to bless him. Because you are a born-again Believer, you, too, have a covenant with God that ensures your total life prosperity-no matter what is going on in the world.
"In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death" (Proverbs 12:28). Getting into the perfect will of God will not only protect you from hurt, harm and danger, it also guarantees favor and success. It is critical that you not allow strife, unforgiveness or offense to get you out of God's perfect will. As your destiny unfolds, you will have many opportunities to get hurt or offended. However, instead of allowing these situations to hinder you, use them as stepping stones to your next level of spiritual growth and character development.
Your future depends on the decisions you make today, but when you allow your emotions to rule your life, you will always make bad decisions that will take you away from God's plan for you. The enemy wants to move you out of the love of God and into a position of selfishness. When that happens, you'll try to preserve yourself rather than look for opportunities to bless others. Don't allow him to do this. No matter what people may do or say to you, make a commitment to walk in the love of God. In doing so, you defeat the enemy and ensure God's blessing on your life. It is also important that you submit your desires to God. Many times you may have a good idea about what you want to do with your life, but it may not be God's perfect plan.
God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins. He wants us to be a part of His family and live with Him eternally in Heaven! He made the ultimate sacrifice so we could have a personal relationship with Him. When all else fails, and there's no one else in our lives to rely on and depend on for love, God will always be there. We often put so much faith in others to provide the kind of love we believe will make us whole, that we leave God out of the equation. People will fail you, but God never will. Instead of trusting in others to love you, try the God who has a track record of unfailing, unconditional love. He always follows through and will always provide what we need. You don't have to ask God to love you; He already does. And because you belong to Him, He will continually show you how valuable you are. Allow His Spirit and His Word to minister to you. Believe in your heart and receive the truth of God's matchless love. Are you seeking answers about God's love and want to know more about it?
