Christianity is not a religion. It is a lifestyle Many Christians today fail to realize this. They evidently mistook the fact that belonging to this sect will eventually save them from the fires of Hell. More often they forget to strengthen the Christian faith leading them to sin.
Surrendering ourselves to God would require more than just reading the Bible daily or evangelizing it. We should have the initiative to put it into action. Only then can we justify the goodness of the Lord. This is only a book, a guide. If we do not apply it in our daily lives, it is senseless. Faith without action is like building a house of stick in the seashore. Once the tides comes in it will be ruined.
Sustaining a Christ-like life can be a challenge in the current age. Temptation is everywhere. It is getting harder and harder to resist. However if your faith is strong, you would not be staggered. Since you have accepted Christ in your life you would know that He would only want the best for you.
Learn to apply what you preach. Many Christians fail to do this. They evangelize the words but fail to put in action. They make use of the verses but do not completely understand them. This sad fact is affecting the perception of others leading their critics to sin unconsciously.
No one can understand the ways of the Lord. He permits things to happen to mold us into a better character. Just like a parent, he would reward as when we do good and punish as if we did wrong. The Lord knows what is best for us so without any question we should follow His bidding.
We are all children of God. We tend to take this for granted and push our limits. We ask but we never give back. We unintentionally break the bond as we sin yet we pride ourselves of being a soldier for Christ. Assess your faith. Try to accept your shortcomings and work out the difference. As Christians it is our responsibility to look after our brothers and ourselves. We should not allow Earthly temptation to get the best of us but instead we should be mindful of our words and our actions.
If the Lord sacrificed His only son for us, what is our right to not give everything up for the faith? A religion is just a group if it fails to show its faith. Do not claim anything until you can show it action. It is like looking in a mirror and forgetting how you look afterwards. Live the faith and earn its rewards.
